2 Puppies Keep Pulling When Walking Their Both Chihuahuas?

K so their both chihuahuas, but how can i walk 2 without them pulling. Ive been doing so far everytime pull= walk 5 steps back and go back again. They seem to stop pulling as before but their still somewhat pulling?Their both 16 weeks old, How can i make them stop pulling when walking TWO chihuahuas? Thanks!

Work with one at a time until they are trained.

Instead of walking backwards, just stop dead in your tracks until they stop pulling. Then they stop, move forward. It may take an hour to go 50 feet, but eventually they will get it.

It is essential that you train them one at a time before attempting a pull-free walk together. Each dog needs to understand it is their actions that is stopping the walk. In addition, the dogs will only excite each other. This is one of several reasons most people will not recommend getting two puppies at once.

Prong collar. Takes only a couple lunges and pulls for the dog to learn that this behavior is not fun anymore.

Supposably its instinct for dogs to want to be the leader of the pact. When I’m walking my dogs I find them always competing to be first. I reccomend not using a retractable leash because they learn nothing from it. Use a leash about four feat long and seperate the dogs onto each side of you. Wrap the excess leash around your wrist. Try to keep the dogs walking beside you or even better behind you. This shows your the pack leader, the protecter, etc. When leaving the house, try to go through the door before the dogs. when you walking them, if you feel them slightly trying to pull more, give the leash a tug, or stop completely and don’t continue until they have stopped or sat(if they know the trick). Continue teaching them in your house, make them sit before you give them a treat, or feed them, or even before you put their leashes on. Hope this helps!

I have three shih tzu’s. When I seperate them and make them walk beside me, they usually stop pulling. They still need a few reminders. The more you work at it the easier it becomes.
