My chihuahua is 5 years old and a real sweetheart. She's not like most chihuahuas, she doesnt yip and bark at everything. Mostly shes just scared. We'd like to get another dog, one that is either her size or smaller(she weighs ten pounds) and that is younger. What dog would she get along with and would be small enough to not scare her?
Chihuahuas would probably get along best with their own breed because they reconize, hey, youre one of me!

I would try either another chihuahua or a toy poodle. Dogs of any breed can have differing temperaments so you definitely want to play with the new dog and handle it a bit to see if it would have a compatible temperament, and if possible introduce your dog to it before you make the decision to get it. If you get a puppy even if it does grow up to be bigger than her she would have been the dominant dog while it is growing up and she would probably not be intimidated by it.

If she weighs 10 lbs, shes a pretty good size for a chihuahua. I have 4 and mine weigh 2.6,2.8,2.8 and 4lbs. Have you thought about another chihuahua long hair/smooth coat depending on what you already have. Maybe a mini pincher or a mini greyhound. Have fun searching !!
