when does pregnant chihuahuas start to gain weight & when can i feel the puppies? shes 4 weeks pregnant. & whats the signs?

you really won’t see any tummy enlargement till about 6 weeks and only a bit bigger and firmpregnant,you will start to feel puppies mildly at 7 weeks,by 8 weeks if you have your hand on her tummy,you will feel movement,do not mistake this with her breathing
at 5 weeks pregnant,you may see her teats more prominent
make sure you slowly introduce puppy food to your girl at 7 weeks,and by 8 week only feed her puppy food and also only puppy food during her nursing the pups
I would also suggest buy a can of wet puppy food great quality,and during whelping,give her a teaspoon of the wet to help with energie,but not a heaping spoon,she may vomit if she has to much

This sounds like a good question for your breeding mentor, but around the 40th day you can feel puppies. At least thats how it is with my papillons.

If she is a smaller type, it can be earlier than 40 days. If the father is larger it could be sooner. Depends on the dogs and the health of the mother. But it doesn’t happen real fast because the puppies are tiny also.
